Formed in London in 1970, Queen redefined rock music with a sound that blended hard rock, opera, glam, blues and pop into something entirely their own. Fronted by the incomparable Freddie Mercury alongside Brian May's virtuoso guitar work, Roger Taylor's powerful drumming and John Deacon's melodic bass lines, the band became one of the best-selling music acts in history — shifting over 300 million records worldwide and delivering one of the greatest live performances ever at Live Aid in 1985.
